Chairman
of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Sunday inaugurated the
Prince Faisal Main Workshops, affiliated with the Royal Maintenance Corps, at
their new location, as part of ongoing efforts to develop the maintenance
system and logistical support. He was received by the Director of the Royal
Maintenance Corps and the workshops’ commander.
Hunaiti listened to a briefing delivered by the
workshops’ commander, outlining the technical and logistical tasks carried out
by the workshops in supporting various formations and units of the Jordan Armed
Forces (JAF), in addition to the available technical and technological
capabilities and modernization and development plans aimed at keeping pace with
operational requirements and enhancing performance efficiency.
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in
the presence of a number of senior JAF officers, stressed that developing
military maintenance workshops represents a strategic direction toward military
industrial empowerment, granting the armed forces greater flexibility in
maintenance and modernization, and enhancing operational responsiveness and
readiness of field units under various conditions. He pointed to the workshops’
vital role in localizing knowledge, transferring technology, and preparing
specialized cadres in military industries and technologies.
This step comes within comprehensive plans
implemented by JAF's General Command to modernize technical facilities in line
with technological developments and to build a modern national defense base
that enhances overall readiness and sustains efficiency and effectiveness.
The Prince Faisal Main Workshops were
established in accordance with the latest technical and engineering
specifications, over an area of 165 dunums, under the supervision and execution
of the Arab International Construction and Contracting Company, contributing to
improved efficiency of maintenance and sustainment operations, faster
completion rates, and higher levels of technical reliability of military
vehicles and equipment.
