ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT WORKSHOPS

Electronic Equipment Workshops were established with high technical specifications and were officially inaugurated by His Majesty the late King Hussein bin Talal (May his soul rest in peace) on May 8, 1985.

The workshops provide support for electronic, electro-optical, and laser equipment and systems up to the fourth-line maintenance level. This includes the inspection of all main and sub-assemblies of electronic, electro-optical, and laser systems, as well as all types of night vision and thermal imaging systems operating within the Armed Forces - the Arab Army. This is achieved using the equipment and testing stations available in the workshops, and by performing the necessary adjustment and calibration processes using the specialized diagnostic stations within the workshops.

Duties:

  • Manufacturing electronic cards in cooperation with the local market and foreign companies to find solutions for devices that are no longer supplied.
  • Performing technical modifications to electronic equipment within the available capabilities to improve its technical performance.
  • Addressing supply problems.
  • Providing technical consultation in all electronic, electro-optical, and laser fields.
  • Conducting scheduled field technical inspections, in cooperation with the Directorate of Royal Maintenance Corps - Inspection and Quality Division, on certain electronic and electro-optical systems.
  • Providing on-the-job training (OJT) for new engineers and technicians.
  • Study and participate in practical testing of electronic systems and devices to ensure their technical specifications meet military standards before proceeding with procurement.
  • Participating in procurement and acceptance committees for electronic systems and devices.
  • Manufacturing electronic devices for protecting certain frequently malfunctioning electronic systems, in addition to electronic devices for testing electronic systems that did not come with testing stations from their original manufacturers.
  • Building, designing, and supporting simulation systems (Simulators) for electronic systems operating in the Armed Forces that did not come with simulation systems from their original manufacturers (e.g., the Centauro tank simulator).
