Amman Central Workshops were established in 1955 in the Al-Mahatta area
under the name of the Royal Guard Workshop. In 1973, they were relocated to the
Marka area (its current location) and renamed Amman Central Workshops to
provide technical support to all military units in Amman.
Mission
Providing all elements of technical support (repair, preparation,
modification, rebuilding, maintenance, rescue, and evacuation) for all vehicles
of military units located in Amman, in addition to supporting the sedan
vehicles of all units of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army.
Duties:
- Providing technical support to all military units located within the
Amman area, including first and second-line repairs.
- Providing fourth-line technical support (overhaul) for major and minor
assemblies of various types of vehicles operating in the Jordanian Armed Forces
- the Arab Army that fall under our technical support responsibility.
- Amman Central Workshops undertake the recovery of all vehicles within the
city of Amman, with the exception of vehicles under the support of the Central
Military division Maintenance Group.
- Producing distilled water and supplying all units of the Jordanian Armed
Forces - the Arab Army with their needs of this material for maintaining
vehicle batteries.
- Training and qualifying technicians and users on maintenance and repair
work for all types of supported vehicles, weapons, and equipment, especially
modern ones.
- Supply the supported units with
necessary maintenance materials and spare parts.
- Modifying and preparing vehicles in accordance with approvals from the
Directorate of Planning and Organization and the Directorate of the Royal
Maintenance Corps.
- Manufacturing and repairing water tanks with a capacity of (6 m³ + 8 m³)
using local capabilities and high technical specifications.
- Conducting scheduled technical inspections of all vehicles, weapons, and
equipment under technical support.
- Producing coolant and supplying all units of the Jordanian Armed Forces
for use in vehicle radiators.
- Preparing and repairing all vehicles covered by insurance when they are
involved in accidents through the supplementary insurance branch.
- Providing on-the-job training (OJT) for junior technicians on maintenance
and repair work for all types of supported vehicles, weapons, and equipment,
especially modern ones.
- Performing preventive maintenance, which includes changing oils and
filters for vehicles through the preventive maintenance station.
- Participating in committees for the purchase, preparation, and reception
of vehicles and photocopiers entering service.
- Repairing photocopiers for all units of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the
Arab Army.
- Repairing motorcycles for all units of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the
Arab Army.
- Forming the reserve workshop within the workshops for emergency
situations.
- Repairing individual weapons for units that fall under its technical
support.
