It is a unit of Royal Maintenance Corps, the core of
which was formed in 1950 under the name of the Engineering Workshop. It
supported the First Engineering Company and joined Royal Maintenance Corps
in 1976, at which point it was named the Engineering Equipment Workshops.
Based on the first phase of the restructuring of the Directorate of the
Royal Maintenance Corps, the Engineering Equipment Workshops were dissolved in
2008. They were then re-established as part of the second phase of
restructuring in 2018 and undertake specialized maintenance work involving the
repair, development, modification, and rebuilding of various engineering
machinery and equipment.
Duties:
- Providing technical support for all engineering vehicles and equipment
used by all units of Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army.
- Performing third and fourth-line repairs for all engineering equipment in
all units.
- Conducting out first and second-line repairs for engineering equipment in
units that do not have technical detachments, through technical support teams.
- Performing overhaul work on major and minor assemblies for all engineering
vehicles and equipment.
- Supervising its subordinate technical detachments in all technical and
technical-administrative matters.
- Conducting technical assessments of all vehicles and equipment operating
in the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army.
- Implementing technical modifications to engineering vehicles and
equipment.
- Preparing engineering vehicles and equipment in Warehouse/11 before they
are issued to user units.
- Participating in the formation of the reserve armored workshop.
- Participating in the formation of the central rescue group for
operational purposes.
