Zarqa Central Workshop


Zarqa Central Workshop were established in 1956 in the Ras al-Naqab area (Aqaba). In 1976, they were relocated to their current location (Zarqa/Khaou) to provide technical support and repair vehicles, weapons, and equipment for all military units located within the Zarqa Governorate.

 Mission

 Zarqa Central Workshops undertake the provision of all elements of technical support (repair, supply, recovery and evacuation, inspection, evaluation) for all vehicles, equipment, and weapons belonging to the military units located within the Zarqa region

Duties:

  • Providing technical support for vehicles and equipment stored in the Royal Maintenance Corps depots through the command of a vehicle depot maintenance and repair workshop.
  • Performing first and second-line technical repairs for (A, B, C) vehicles, equipment, and weapons at the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Training City through its supporting workshop.
  • Executing first and second-line technical repairs for (A, B, C) vehicles, equipment, weapons, and precision instruments for military units within the area of responsibility through technical detachments attached to these units.
  • Zarqa Central Workshop undertake first and second-line technical repairs for (A, B, C) vehicles and weapons for units that do not have technical detachments assigned to them.
  • Performing first, second, and third-line technical repairs for Royal Jordanian Air Force/Air Defense vehicles, including (M113 armored personnel carrier, towed Vulcan cannon, self-propelled Vulcan cannon).
  • Providing technical support for cargo vehicles participating in humanitarian aid convoys and field hospitals, as well as vehicles participating in the military Hajj and Umrah mission.
  • Repairing and preparing 5-ton or more cargo vehicles and 50-passenger buses that are out of service in units of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army and whose repair capabilities exceed those of their supporting technical units.

Development and Modernization:

·         All workshops departments are equipped with modern machinery, equipment, and diagnostic devices to keep pace with the rapid advancements in modern vehicle technology.

 Development and Qualification of Technical and Engineering Staff:

·         Engineering and technical staff are qualified and trained through specialized internal and external courses and by reviewing various technical studies to achieve the technical skills that match the advancements in vehicles, equipment, and weapons.
